BOULDER, Colo. ( KMOX/AP)- It began with two St. Louis area mothers filing suit in 2007, claiming a Colorado dairy supplier used unfair and deceptive practices to sell non-organic milk at organic prices.
A federal judge in St. Louis threw out their lawsuit two years later, saying the company’s products were certified by an agent of the USDA.
Now, the Daily Camera newspaper(http://bit.ly/P81Qao ) reports Aurora Organic Dairy has agreed to a 7.5 million dollar settlement in a consolidated class-action suit.
A company spokeswoman says the dairy never did anything wrong, but it had grown weary of litigation and wanted to end the distraction.
Aurora Organic is a supplier for many US grocery chains.
