ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The St. Louis Cardinals have announced their 2013 regular season schedule.
The team will kick off the season on April 1, 2013 in Arizona followed by a series against the Giants before their home opening on April 8 against the Reds.
The Redbirds will take on the Chicago Cubs, Milwaukee Brewers, and Pittsburgh Pirates nineteen times each in the regular season. They will also square off against the Houston Astros for two series following Houston’s move to the American League.
Among the highlights of the schedule is a record number of interleague games, including series against every team in the American League West. The Cardinals will travel to Los Angeles to play the Angels July 2-4, marking the team’s first contests against former Cardinal Albert Pujols.
The 2013 regular season ends with a weekend series at Busch Stadium against the Cubs.
