ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – Only one eastbound lane on I-64 in downtown St. Louis is open at this hour, and it will remain that way through the evening rush hour.

MoDOT spokesperson says repair work to the double deck structure took longer than anticipated Thursday.

These closed lanes cannot be reopened until needed pavement plate work is completed.

Motorists heading into Illinois are advised to detour to either northbound I-170 to I-70 or divert at Hampton or Kingshighway to access I-44.
