ST. LOUIS (KMOX) -  Tragedy at the New Life Evangelistic Center (1411 Locust St.) Tuesday night as a man plummets several stories to his death.

Police tell KMOX News that a 46-year-old man was standing near a fourth floor stairwell when he lost his balance and fell to the basement.

He died of a massive head injury.

Investigators believe the man, who has not been publicly identified, was intoxicated.

An investigation continues.

The New Life Evangelistic Center is a homeless shelter operated by the Reverend Larry Rice.
