FLORISSANT, Mo. (KMOX) — Two Hazelwood school district fifth-graders face disciplinary action after one brought an unloaded gun and ammunition to school in a backpack and another student hid the gun in a classroom.
District Spokeswoman Diana Gulotta says they don’t know why the student took the gun to Keeven Elementary school on Thursday.
“We don’t have any information right now that would indicate that he was going to use it in a threatening manor with anybody.”
A third student saw the weapon and alerted the teacher.
Keeven Elementary School principal Sue Fields sent home a letter to parents and guardians about the incident that happened Thursday.
Keeven Elementary School is in Florissant.
