St. Louis, San Francisco Mayors Wager on NLCS

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – It will be a battle of dim sum and Anchor Steam beer against toasted ravioli and Budweiser.

St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay and San Francisco Mayor Edwin Lee made their wager before the National League Championship Series began last night.

In addition to the food and beer at stake, the mayor of the losing city will also change his Twitter profile photo to the winning team’s logo for a day.

“I appreciate Mayor lee’s tough talk,” Mayor Slay said. “We’re a little more modest because we are so used to winning. The last five playoff series all started the same way: tough talk from opposing mayors. They also ended the same way: a St. Louis Cardinals victory, and the people of St. Louis enjoying some very good food.”

The Cardinals took Game One of the series last night in San Francisco, 6-4.
