ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The mayor of St. Louis bet some locally-made food and beer against his counterpart in San Francisco on the National League Championship series.
KMOX News caught up with Francis Slay on Saturday to get his reaction to the Cardinals failing to clinch a series win on Friday night at Busch Stadium, “I was sitting on the edge of my seat last night when the game was starting. It looked like they were going to get something going in the first few innings, but didn’t. Hopefully they were saving it up for the next game.”
That next game of the NLCS— Game Six— is Sunday night at 6:45 central time. KMOX will have all the action for you live from San Francisco.
Mayor Slay says he’s happy with the attention the Cardinals playoff run is bringing to the city of St. Louis, “The NLCS does give us a lot of great exposure. I think the other thing it does is makes people throughout the town, especially Cardinal baseball fans, feel better about everything. That’s a good thing, as well.”
Slay says he’s confident the Cards can win either Game Six or Seven in San Francisco, then have home field advantage in the World Series — which would bring the town even greater exposure.
