ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Some Red Cross volunteers from the greater St. Louis region are headed east to help with Hurricane Sandy (aka Frankenstorm) relief efforts, if needed.

A few are driving emergency response vehicles. Others are preparing to help with shelter and health concerns.

Their destinations include Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.

A Red Cross spokeswoman in St. Louis says more volunteers and equipment are on standby.
