BALLWIN, MO (KMOX) - A New Schnucks Market will be opening tomorrow at the corner of Clarkson and Kehrs Mill, after a year of construction and controversy.
Several years ago, when the development was being planned, a group of landowners in Ballwin tried suing Schnucks, claiming the new market would bring down property values.
That suit was unsuccessful, and store manager Jason VonderHaar says Schnucks has tried to make the location more than a grocery store, but also a community gathering place.
“We have a cafe, we have what’s called a loft, and our customers can enjoy our great foods up in the loft area.”
He says there will also be a community room that people can reserve for meetings.
The grand opening is Thursday morning at 9 a.m.
