COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - A woman who reported being robbed outside a central Missouri pharmacy is now accused of taking part in a scheme to obtain and sell prescription painkillers.
Columbia police responded to the report from the 47-year-old woman around 8:30 a.m. Monday. Officers followed tips from witnesses and took a 29-year-old Columbia man into custody.
Police talked to the woman and say she seemed to know the holdup man. Investigators concluded the two staged the robbery so that after getting her painkiller prescription filled, the woman could get replacement medication the pair would then sell.
Both were arrested on suspicion of filing a false police report and other charges.
