GRANITE CITY, IL. (KMOX) - The Granite City Police Department continues to investigate a shooting that took place Wednesday afternoon shortly after 5:00 p.m.

The shooting took place in the 2600 block of David Morgan.

The victim is described as a 27 year old female and she was shot 1 time.

She has been transported to a St. Louis hospital and is listed in stable condition.

A male suspect has been taken into custody and charges are expected Thursday.
