Warehouse fire in East St. Louis. (KMOX/ Brad Choat)
EAST ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – Black smoke is billowing across interstate 55 from a warehouse fire in East St. Louis.
A neighbor says the building at 9th and Lynch has not been occupied for sometime.
Three pumper trucks are pouring water on the fire at this hour, along with several helicopters. A KMOX reporter says the smoke has a ‘foul’ smell.
The brick building appears to have equipment inside including what looks like a cherry picker.
The company was once the Holten Meat Company, but more recently it was a mattress warehouse.
