BARTELSO, Ill. (KMOX) – The Santa Fe fire chief says his colleague and friend Timothy Jansen slipped while pulling hoses from a fire truck Sunday night near Bartelso.

Adam Maue says the truck’s driver didn’t know Jensen had fallen and thought it was okay to move the truck.

That’s when Jansen was struck, suffering fatal injuries.

He was a 15-year veteran of the volunteer fire department and an owner of a Clinton County restaurant.
