E. ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - If you travel I-64 in the Metro East, IDOT says expect major back-ups Tuesday and Wednesday.

Crews will be patching pavement and repairing potholes.

The work will take place on Eastbound I-64 from 18th to 9th streets in East St. Louis between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m., both Tuesday and Wednesday.

The work will take place in the Westbound lanes on Wednesday between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m.

During those times and dates, I-64 will be reduced to one lane.

IDOT says significant delays are expected and they suggest motorists take alternate routes.
