LITCHFIELD, IL. (KMOX) - Litchfield, Illinois teachers reached a tentative agreement Monday night with the school board  and members will vote Tuesday on a contract.

They teachers union and district leaders had been talking since seven o’clock Monday night before emerging with a tentative deal just before 10:30 p.m.

The disagreement was over salary. The union teachers had threatened to strike if an agreement wasn’t reached Monday night.

The vote Tuesday will take place right after classes.

A union spokesperson would only tell KMOX News that teachers will get a raise each year but would not say how much. Teachers will also have to make concessions in benefits.  Specifics of that were not disclosed.
