ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - DeSmet Jesuit High School may soon expand to include a middle school after DeSmet President Father Wally Sidney says parents and alumni have been requesting a middle school for years.
“I think they would come because they do value the rigor of the academic discipline that we have,” he said. “I think they also value the way we put faith and justice together.”
Sidney says the proposed tuition remains under study. “We would like the tuition to be lower than the high school’s tuition, simply because we would like the school to be open to a more diverse student body.”
A decision on the plan is expected by the end of June. If approved, the new DeSmet middle school would open in August of 2014.
