Store Clerk Shoots Robbery Suspect In North County

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOX) — The man who allegedly attempted to rob a Country Club Hills grocery store is in surgery after being shot by the clerk Thursday morning.

Country Club Hills Police Chief Cliff Ware tells KMOX it happened at about 6:30 a.m. inside the Mally Supermarket in the 7400 block of W. Florissant near Lucas and Hunt.

Ware could not confirm if the alleged robber was armed. He also did not say if anyone else was in the store. But he could tell us that at least one shot was fired and that it was the robbery suspect who was struck.
