ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The Cardinals have only third baseman David Freese left heading toward salary arbitration, after signing relief pitcher Marc Rzepczynski to a contract for the 2013 season.
Terms were not disclosed.
The 27-year-old lefthander appeared in 70 games for the Cards last season, second-most on the team, and ended the season with eight consecutive scoreless appearances.
Rzepczynski joined the Cardinals in a trade from Toronto at the July trade deadline in 2011.
