CHESTERFIELD, MO (KMOX) – Chesterfield Police are mourning the loss of detective Christopher Simpson.

According to a news release, Simpson “succumbed to a medical emergency while at the Chesterfield Police Fitness Center” just after 5 o’clock Tuesday night.

Simpson had been an officer for 35 years, including 25 years with the Chesterfield Police Department. Prior to joining Chesterfield Police, Simpson served in the Maplewood and Berkley police departments.

Mr. Simpson is survived by his wife of 32 years.
