ST. CHARLES, MO (KMOX) - He took his eight-year-old son with him when he went to a hotel to sell heroin and when he got caught he fought with officers as they tried to keep him from eating the drug.

That’s what St. Charles Police are saying about 32-year-old John Faupel of Edmundson.

Investigators say Faupel left the boy in the car with more heroin and paraphernalia while he went into the Arch Budget Hotel to sell $80 worth of heroin to a police informant.

When uniformed officers moved in he ate some of the heroin and tried to eat more. He is now in jail on $90,000 cash-only bond.
