ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Two local hospitals make this year’s Healthgrades.com list of best hospitals in the nation.

Healthgrade.com’s Arkell Georgio says St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield in the only hospital in the St. Louis area to be named one of “America’s 50 Best Hospitals” in 2013.

“That means they were in the top one percent of hospitals in the country and that’s because they have complication rates and fatality rates that are lower than all the other hospitals in the country and they sustain that quality over time,” she said.

St. Luke’s has landed within the top fifty spots on Healthgrades’ list for seven years in a row. Missouri Baptist Medical Center also made the top 100 list.
