JEFFERSON CITY For as heavy and strong as they are, the TowPlows
used by the Missouri Department of Transportation are remarkably responsive and flexible.
Viewers can watch the TowPlow in action from a variety of angles including images captured by a camera mounted atop the plow blade.
In one sequence, the TowPlow is shown retreating from its position astride a dump truck as the driver passes a parked tractor-trailer. The driver then quickly redeploys the tool using controls located in the dump of the cab.
We are very pleased with the performance of TowPlows and the skill of our drivers, said Beth Wright, MoDOT state maintenance engineer.
TowPlows allow us to clear more than one lane at a time with a single truck, increasing our efficiency and bringing highways to a safe condition more quickly.
