CREVE COEUR, Mo. (KMOX) – An apartment resident and a firefighter are recovering from minor injuries after a three-alarm fire in the Oak Forest Apartments in Creve Coeur.

Firefighters said all three floors of the apartment building located off Lindbergh Blvd. near Page Ave. were engulfed when they arrived on the scene just before 3:00 a.m. Thursday.

A neighbor told KMOX’s Brian Kelly she was awaken around 2:30 a.m. from someone banging on her door.

She said the man who lives across the hallway said he fell asleep while smoking, he tired to put it out but couldn’t. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
