Study: 27% of Missourians Are Obese

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — New national obesity numbers are out…..and once again, Missourians tip the scale a little bit more than Illinoisans.

The newly released Gallup Healthways Well Being Index shows Colorado has the fewest obese citizens (18.7%), West Virginia the most (33.5%).

Missouri ranks 21st heaviest in the nation — with an obesity rate of 27.2 percent. That is one percent higher than the national average of 26.2 percent.

Illinois comes in at number 29 — with an obesity rate of 25.9 percent.
