Manufacturing Plant Moves Into Former Ford Site In Hazelwood

HAZELWOOD, MO (KMOX) – A new food manufacturing company is moving into the old Ford Motors site in Hazelwood.

At the groundbreaking ceremony Thursday afternoon, International Food Products Corporation CEO Clayton Brown said the new site will be up and running by the end of the year.

“We are taking our warehouse facility and a production facility and bringing them together into one facility,” he explained.

International Food Products Corporation has a workforce of about 150 people and revenue which, in 2012, topped $351 million.

International Food Products is the first tenant at Aviator Business Park, a new site on Lindbergh Blvd. near Interstate 270.

“Actually, the location was perfect because of the highways and all that,” Brown said. “Also, it’s our first venture into [St. Louis] County with our production so we’re real excited about that as well.”

Hazlewood City Manager Edwin Carlstrom hailed the move as the start to an economic boost in the area. “We think that there’s going to be a tremendous residual effect on what’s going to happen down the road here in this one particular site.”
