ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – At the height of the storm Thursday night, close to 45-thousand Ameren customers lost electricity.

As of 7 a.m. Thursday there are still 23,327 people in Missouri without power and 2,838 people in Illinois. (16,723 in St. Louis County, 815 in St. Charles County)

Dave Wakeman, Ameren Missouri VP of Energy Delivery, tells KMOX News that crews worked through the overnight, but are waiting for sunrise.

“Once daylight gets here and we get a better handle on what the damage is then we’ll be able to quick restore people throughout the day.”

Wakeman adds that Ameren is calling in additional crews from other parts of the state to assist.
