Anthony Akins Plead Guilty in Steak ‘n Shake Murders

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — Two months after he withdrew his original guilty plea, Anthony Akins has again pleaded guilty to his role in the 2008 robbery and double-murder at a south St. Louis County Steak ‘n Shake restaurant.

Akins dropped his earlier plea so he wouldn’t have to testify against his brother, Oundr’e Akins, 23, who was convicted anyway last month.

Thursday Anthony Akins was sentenced to two life sentences without the possible of patrol for the killings of Tammy Cantrell and Mark Gerstner. Akins also received 4 other life sentences served concurrently.
