Levee Breach Near Winfield

WINFIELD, MO. (KMOX) – A levee breach near Winfield Missouri tonight.

About thirty homes are threatened after a 150 foot section of the Bob’s Creek Levee failed.

the Bob’s Creek Levee is not a main line Mississippi river levee. Chief of the Winfield-Foley Fire Protection District Corey Swafford told KMOX News about 90 homeowners have been told of the rising waters. Some have left others have elected to stay.

He says the levee mainly protects farm land and is not part of the Winfield City Levee or the Mississippi River Levee.

Because of the breach , East Central Lincoln county is under a Flash Flood Warning until midnight Saturday.
