ST. LOUIS (AP) – A burglary suspect is expected to survive after being shot by an off-duty St. Louis police officer.
Authorities say the officer was home Friday afternoon when he saw a man trying to break into a neighbor’s home. The officer confronted the man and the two struggled over the officer’s gun. The officer fired several shots, striking the suspect in the hip.
The 50-year-old suspect’s name has not been released and no charges have been filed. The officer was not hurt.
