It was called “Wings Over America” and that’s what it was, and more.
In the mid 1970s, Paul McCartney and his group “Wings” performed in front of over 600,000 people in 31 shows in the United States. The group toured internationally at that time too, appearing in concert in front of two million people in ten countries. The concert included performances with his late wife Linda, who passed away in 1988 of breast cancer.
“Wings” was formed in 1971 by McCartney. The release of this filmed concert coincides with the re-release of a CD and DVD from that time called Rockshow. The concert movie will be shown by Wehrenberg on May 16 for one night only at eight theaters in the Wehrenberg chain. For more information, click on the link below. The documentary features McCartney and Wings performing 30 songs. Several music historians have called Rockshow the best live music video of all time.
