ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – A flood warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for the Mississippi River at St. Louis, Alton Lock and Dam and Chester Illinois.
Only minor flooding is expected at this time, but officials say it’s still a developing situation and the forecast could change.
At St. Louis the river was at 22 feet Monday night and is expected to rise above the 30 foot flood stage late Thursday night and continue to rise to 32 feet Saturday morning.
That will mean flooding on Leonor K. Sullivan Boulevard and the entrance to the parking garage North of the Eads Bridge.
At some point they will be closing the floodwall at Lacledes landing and flood panels will be put in place at Carr Street and Poplar Street.
