ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — A three-day job fair for those looking to work for the Post Office kicked off Tuesday in St. Peters.
Valerie Welsch with the Gateway District says they’re expanding despite the agency’s much-publicized financial woes.
“The mail has to be delivered,” said Welsch. “Congress has required us to continue delivering six days a week, so we have to cover our routes.”
Welsch says they’re looking for workers to deliver the mail in rural areas. To qualify you’ll need a good driving record and know how to change a flat tire or two.”I’ve know carriers who’ve had five flat tires in one day. The carrier is the one that usually has to change those tires.”
Job fairs are:
- Tuesday at the St. Peters Post Office until 2 p.m.
- Thursday at the Washington, Missouri Post Office from 10 to 2 p.m..
- Friday at the Imperial Post Office from 10 to 2 p.m.
