Police Search For Jewelry Thief

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - St. Louis Police are searching for the man they say stole a $2,000 diamond ring from a St. Louis jewelry store.
According to police, the man entered the store in the 4100 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive on Monday and asked to view the ring. He then went to his car to retrieve a credit card, returned to the business and asked to try the ring on. Police say he then placed the ring on his finger and ran from the building.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5’9″ to 5’10” tall and weighing 185 to 200 pounds. At the time of the theft he was wearing a grey sweatshirt over a white t-shirt, black shorts over grey sweatpants, and black-framed glasses with no lenses. He had two teardrop tattoos under his right eye and tattoos on both sides of his neck.The suspect was seeing fleeing the scene in a green 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix, believed to have Missouri license plates.
