With just over a month to go until the Midsummer Classic, the National League voting race is tightening up.
The American League learned Saturday who was among the top vote getters. Those players leading the National League race were released on Sunday.
As it currently stands, Buster Posey of the San Francisco Giants leads all league voters with 1,961,861 votes. St. Louis Cardinals’ catcher Yadier Molina is knocking on the door with 1,684,700 votes. Molina ranks fourth in the league in voting.
In the outfield, Cardinals’ rightfielder Carlos Beltran moved into third starting position, jumping the Milwaukee Brewers’ Ryan Braun. Currently, the other two starters are Justin Upton of the Atlanta Braves and Bryce Harper of the Nationals. Cincinatti Reds’ outfielder Shin-Soo Choo is also in the mix.
