ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) — Washington University School of Medicine announces plans for a new 130-thousand-square feet research building that’s described as “very open and modern.”

A groundbreaking is expected later this summer on the $75-million six story facility that will be built on McKinley Avenue just west of Taylor.

“We’re planning on housing some of our very dynamic work that relates to Genome Science and internal and regenerative medicine, as well as some high tech imaging facilities,” said Dr. Jenny Lodge Wash U’s associate dean for research.

The building is set to open June of 2015.
