ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The Cardinals are making a roster move for game two of their three-game weekend series against the Texas Rangers.

Team officials announced Saturday afternoon that pitcher Tyler Lyons is being sent to AAA Memphis and pitcher Michael Blazek will be promoted to take his place.

The 2007 draft pick was called up once earlier in the season, but did not appear in a game for the Cards. The 24-year-old righthander has spent much of the season thusfar with minor league teams at AA Springfield and AAA Memphis. He’ll wear jersey number 67.

Tyler Lyons was 2-3 with a 5.51 ERA in six starts for the Cardinals.
