Fatal Ohio Plane Crash May Have St. Louis Impact

DAYTON, Ohio (AP) – The Associated Press is reporting a plane carrying a wing walker crashed Saturday at an air show and exploded into flames, killing the pilot and stunt walker instantly.

Dayton International Airport spokeswoman Linda Hughes and Ohio State Highway Patrol Lt. Anne Ralston confirmed the deaths to the AP.

The names of the victims haven’t been released yet.

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – A “wing-walking” stunt plane performer scheduled to appear at the Fair St. Louis air show next month may have been involved in a plane crash during a show near Dayton Ohio.

Media outlets in western Ohio are reporting the craft went down Saturday afternoon at the Vectren Air Show, where the Jane Wicker Wingwalker act was performing.

The plane burst into flames when it hit the ground.

Officials have not confirmed the identities of those onboard, nor announced their conditions.

The official Jane Wicker Wingwalker website has been taken down, but her Twitter feed has not.

In a Tweet dated June 6th, she invited followers to come see her hang by the Arch on the riverfront at this year’s Fair St. Louis event July 4th through the 6th.
