Blues Promote Jan Vopat to Head of European Amateur Scouting

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Armstrong of the announced today that the club has promoted Jan Vopat to the Head of European Amateur Scouting. He replaces Ville Siren, who has become a part of the Columbus Blue Jackets organization.

Vopat, 40, has worked as an amateur scout with the Blues since 2007. He will be responsible for overseeing all of the scouting efforts regarding European prospects.

Vopat was drafted by the Hartford Whalers in the third round (No. 57 overall) in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft. He played in 126 career NHL games with the Los Angeles Kings and Nashville Predators, scoring 11 goals and 20 assists (31 points).
