Mold Closes Two St. Clair County Post Offices

ALORTON, Ill. (KMOX) – Two St. Clair County, Illinois post offices were shut down Tuesday morning due to concerns over mold.

The post offices in both Alorton and Cahokia were closed.

The United States Postal Service confirmed Tuesday morning that the buildings are on “emergency suspension.”

The owners of the buildings are being contacted to clean up the mold and the offices will not reopen until that happens.

Customers are asked to use the East St. Louis post office until the other two can be reopened.
