GRANITE CITY, Ill. (AP) - Authorities say fishermen at a state park in the Metro-East have found the body of a man.

Illinois State Police Special Agent Devin Watts says the body was found just before 6 a.m. on Sunday at Horseshoe Lake State Park near Pontoon Beach. The Belleville News-Democrat (http://bit.ly/13QIQYW ) reports that the body was found in the water near a boat launch ramp.

Authorities say evidence shows the man was murdered, but no further details have been released.

The Madison County Coroner’s Office plans to conduct an autopsy on Monday.
