ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Legend has it that if you fold 1,000 paper cranes, a wish will come true.

That’s what prompted the STL Crane Project at Art Hill in Forest Park.

Organizers folded the cranes and placed them on the hill as a memorial to first responders who’ve died in the line of duty.

Paper crane displayed this weekend will be sold for $10 each, with proceeds going to Backstoppers, the organization that cares for families of fallen first responders.
