Charity Concert to Benefit Individual Veteran’s Families

COLUMBIA, IL. (KMOX) – Some big-name bands have joined forces to raise money for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans.

Organizer of the registered non-profit “Songs 4 Soldiers” Dustin Row says this charity is unique because it will not just collect money and divy it up to many. The charity will select four veterans families and pay for their specific needs.

“Whether they are wounded or not, down on their luck, we are going to get to know them and their families and find out exactally what they need.” said Row. “We are going to pay for specific needs whether its a new roof, a house that needs to be worked on, if their kids maybe have medical bills that aren’t being covered. Anything that we can do to help.”

He hopes to expand the effort to more families in years to come. The money from the registered non-profit charity will be raised at a concert on September 14th in Columbia Illinois. (Market Place Square in downtown Columbia, IL) Gates will open at 4 P.M. Bands will play untill 11 P.M.

Bands and restaurants from St. Louis and the Metro East will participate.
