ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A mother and her child hid behind a bathroom shower curtain while two men ransacked their home on Tuesday.

It was in the 4000 block of Lafayette.

Two men kicked in the front door. A 33 year old woman called police, grabbed her 14 month old daughter and hid in a second floor bathroom.

They could hear the men going through their belongings. One of them even entered the bathroom but didn’t see them.

Police arrived and one of the suspects allegedly attacked an office with a screwdriver.

The officer fired a shot and hit him in the leg, but he continued to fight the officer and in the struggle they fell through a sliding glass door.

That suspect managed to get away briefly in an S.U.V., even called 9-1-1 to try and convince police he’d been shot in a drive by shooting.

He was captured, and so was the second suspect who ran, resisted arrest, and was tased.
