UPDATE: Two Arrested for Shooting Near Vashon High School

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOX) – Police say an 18-year-old male and a 15-year-old male have been taken into custody in connection with the shooting near Vashon High School. The investigation continues.

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Police say a student was shot in the back not far from Vashon High School in north St. Louis this morning.

The student, 17, is expected to survive. The shooting occurred near the intersection of Webster Avenue and Sheridan Avenue around 7:40.

A suspect is believed to be on the run but the school was not placed on lockdown.

St. Louis Police said in a tweet that the shooting “appears to be an ongoing dispute between two individuals who know each other.”

As of 11 a.m. the victim was in surgery and listed as stable, according to police.

Few other details were known Wednesday morning.
