East St. Louis Firefighters Plan Court Challenge to Save Jobs

EAST ST. LOUIS, IL (KMOX) – East St. Louis firefighters plan to take the city to court to save their jobs.

The firefighters plan to file an injunction Monday, when a grant funding the firefighters expires.

The chairman of the city’s Financial Advisory Authority, Marvin Lampkin says almost 500 thousand dollars has been found that could keep the firefighters on til the end of the year.

Mayor Alvin Parks says that money will be used to pay back-pay to city employees.
