Two Charged in Stabbings in Granite City

GRANITE CITY, IL. (KMOX) – Two people have now been charged in the stabbing death of a woman in Granite City and the wounding of man.

It was on the parking lot of a Quick Trip on Madison Avenue early Sunday morning. Witnesses told police they heard a disturbance. Kaitlin Juenger was stabbed and died just over an hour later. A male companion, identified as Hugo Valenzuela, survived.

Police later caught Breanna Maldonado of Granite City and Antonio Carlin of St. Louis.

Maldonado has been charged with First Degree Murder and is held without bond.

Carlin is charged with Aggravated Battery and bond was set at $50,000.
