ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - If you know who owns a two-year-old dog whose rear legs were gangrenous and whose right paw had been chewed off, you could be in line for a $1,000 reward.

The dog was found abandoned outside the Humane Society’s front door on Macklind Ave. early last Saturday and had to be euthanized.

She was a female Dalmatian mix. An autopsy showed injuries to her rear legs had been untreated for several weeks which resulted in injuries up to the knees of both legs and gangrene up to her ankles.

The dog could not use her legs, had been dragging herself, and she had chewed off her right rear paw due to her instinct to relieve herself of dying tissue.

If you can help identify her owner, officials urge you to call the Missouri Animal Cruelty Hotline at (314) 647-4400.
