ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - When the nation focuses on St. Louis for the National League Championship Series again tonight, will it see a lighted Arch in the background of Busch Stadium?

Arch spokeswoman Ann Honious says no one is sure yet.

“The lights on the Arch are scheduled to go on each evening and we have been having some mechanical problems and they’re currently working with a contractor to get them repaired,” she explained.

The lights are paid for by the Gateway Foundation and Honious says the foundation is not exactly sure why they haven’t been working since a scheduled two-week darkness to protect migratory birds at the end of September.

Honious said the light malfunction has nothing to do with a partial shutdown of the federal government which ended Wednesday.
