Movie Weekend Attendance Steady and Substantial
The Ender’s Game series of science fiction novels and short stories makes a big, successful jump to the giant screen as “Ender’s Game” the movie starring Harrison Ford and Asa Butterfield came in first its opening weekend taking in $28 million on 3,407 screens.
The Jackass series of movies continues with “Bad Grandpa.” It came in second this weekend with $20.5 million and has sold $62.1 million in two weeks, This proves there’s a market for tasteless.
The baby boomer buddy film with the all-star cast, “Last Vegas,” came in third taking in $16.5 million. The new animated movie “Free Birds” came in fourth with $16.2 million.
