ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOX) – It’s the middle of November — and so far, so good — when it comes to the flu in the St. Louis area.

Just 15 flu cases have been reported so far in St. Louis County, 26 in all of Eastern Missouri, and only 112 total in the state.

This small sample size shows kids between 5 and 14 — and adults between 25 and 49 are getting hit the hardest.

Local health officials say don’t get complacent, go ahead and get that flu shot because typically the worst of the flu season hits in the St. Louis area after the New Year.

Last year, the flu season got off to a fast start with the state of Missouri reporting 2,088 cases by the start of December.
